Frederick McMann

It is with great sorrow and shock that the family announces the passing of beloved husband, father, & grandpa Frederick Churchill McMann in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Wednesday, February 21st, 2007 at the age of 65 years. Fred is survived by his loving wife Pam of 44 years, and two devoted sons, Michael and Bradley both of Langley, loving daughter Kim McMann of Kamloops, two grandchildren Mitchell and Kayla McMann of Kamloops who were the apples of Grandpa’s eyes, one sister Mary Hughes of New Westminster, BC, two nieces and one nephew, one brother-in-law Jim Viggor of North Vancouver. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister Helen and brother-in-law, Al Hughes. Fred was born in 1941 in McCaury, Manitoba. In 1945 he moved to New Westminster. During his time there he played junior hockey with the Westminster Royal’s. In 1963 Fred joined the Fire Department and enjoyed many years of curling and golfing with the fire fighters. In 1993 Fred became the Assistant Chief. In 1998 Fred retired to Vernon. During his life Fred was an avid Steelhead and fly fisherman. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held for family and friends at a future date on the Thompson River. No flowers, by request. Donations to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Cancer Clinic would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the PLEASANT VALLEY FUNERAL HOME 542-4333.
