BLACK, GARY JAMES “CHUM”

It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Gary James Black after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Pilot Mound, MB on February 3, 1957.

Gary is predeceased by his parents Dorthy and Jimmy. Gary is survived by his best friend and life partner. Shirley, his only son Doug, his step daughters Sandi (Carl) Sherry, Deb, Tracey (Russ) and his brother Jack (Anne). He is also survived by his grandchildren Tia, Chad, & Jade, his nieces and nephews Rob (Deanna), Michael, Tyson, Jacqueline, and his faithful puppy Benji.

Gary will be remembered for his love of old cars, motorcycles & drag racing. Our “Mr. Fix it” loved tinkering around the house & shop and working in his yard. He was also a master chef on the BBQ with his roasts & chicken grilled to perfection. He was always there to help anyone in need.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rao & Dr. Blythe, Lorne & Carol at the Vernon cancer clinic and also Sharon& Sherry in ICU for making Gary comfortable in his final days. At Gary’s request, there will be no funeral service.

In lieu of, flowers and donations can be made to Cancer Society. Rest in Peace Babe, We’ll Always Love You. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via email:vernon@pafs.net.
