Mr. George William Martinsen (VE7FE) passed away in the Polson Multi-Level Unit of Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Wednesday, June 14th, 2006 at the age of 90 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Agnes, to whom he was married for 18 years, two daughters; Wendy (Siraj) Din of Vernon, B.C. and Melody (Kari) Koivisto of Indian Head, Saskatchewan, five grandsons; Ismail Din, Shah Din, Jan Din, Matthew Koivisto and Steven Koivisto, one great-grandson; Matthew Tessier, three step-children; Wayne (Louise) Abbey of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Lloyd (Fran) Abbey of Barriere, B.C. and Sharon Ann Reid of Vernon, B.C., seven step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, one sister; Klara Lier of Lloydminster, Alberta and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by one daughter; Karen Martinsen, two sisters; Sally Perks and Mabel Ott and one brother; Harry Martinsen. Cremation preceded a Celebration Of George’s Life which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Monday, June 19th, 2006 at 2:30 P.M. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of George to the B.C.
