Gertrude Winifred (nee Graves) Green

September 14, 1928 - September 17, 2017

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom, grandmother and Gee Gee (great-grandmother), Gertrude ("Cookie") Green. On September 17, 2017 she reunited with her husband, George Green, who passed in 2006.

She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her four children, Katherine Pearson (Keith), Bruce Green (Teresa), Robert Green, and Patti Green, Marion her one surviving sister, grandchildren Amber Christmann (Ryan), Chad Pearson (Julie), Donald Deane, Breezy Green, Jodi Felker (Trevor), Kelli Felker (Travis), and great grandchildren, Mikayla, Tye, and Cord Christmann.

She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews that were very close to her heart. She was predeceased by her other 9 brothers and sisters.

Cookie was always on the go whether working inside or outside her home. She was a beautiful, independent woman, who may have been known for being a little stubborn.

She was also remembered for taking in two and four-legged strays.

She met George in Armstrong, where she grew up. They married in 1947 and lived in Enderby until they moved to Vernon in 1968.

Cookie and George spent many summers at their cabin at Mabel Lake. They shared countless laughs with family and friends, and she managed to kept her great wit and sense of humour to the end.

We know her friends and caregivers at Diamond House in Warman, Saskatchewan will remember her fondly, and we thank them for their kindness.

Cookie requested that no services be held, but we gratefully acknowledge your kind thoughts and prayers.

She will be cremated and placed with George's ashes at the Spallumcheen Cemetery in Armstrong, BC.
