Gilbert Kunzelman

GILBERT GEORGE KUNZELMAN passed away at home on February 22, 2007 surrounded by loved ones. Born in 1932, Gil was raised in South Saskatchewan and later the Lower Mainland. He met Eve when she came to a family dinner with his sister, and they wed in 1956. Gil and Eve moved their growing family to Coldstream in 1966, where he built the family home. Gil was a teacher from 1960 until his retirement from VSS in 1992. He enjoyed working with wood, and in his retirement found much pleasure traveling to many destinations worldwide.

Gil will be sadly missed by his loving children; Joyce (Steve), Sally, Daniel (Wendy), Susan (Jason) and Douglas, as well as by his grandchildren; Kyle, Ben, Daevyne and Kessa. Gil also leaves behind his sisters; Gladys McLellan, Lynette Stevenson and Ida Piva, as well as his mother-in-law Mary Granberg, nieces, nephews, many extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his cherished wife Eve in 1996, his brother Wilbert and sisters Lydia, Irene and Kathy.

A Memorial Service will be held from the Chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 27, at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Cremation.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gil’s memory may be made to Hospice House, 3506 – 27 Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4.
