GLEN GREGORY EVELY

Glen Gregory Evely was a gentle, loyal person who touched so many with his kindness, his light hearted sense of humour and “that laugh that will not be forgotten”. Glen loved the outdoors and passed many special times with his family, hiking, camping and fishing. Working for the B.C. Forestry Service enabled him to further enjoy the outdoors (although all too often Glen found himself knee deep in snow or mud digging out his forestry truck!). Glen always gave 110% to his family and friends and work, yet he still found time to give back to his community through years of work in the Ambulance Service and as a member of the Vernon Auxiliary RCMP. More than anything else Glen loved his family and was an incredible partner and best friend to Annie as well as an adoring and doting father to his two girls Corinne and Lydia. Glen had a gift for making simple celebrations into extraordinary events and gained a reputation for hand making elaborate birthday piñatas for his children (that in the end always required the strength of several adults to break open!). Glen will be greatly missed by many but most of all by his daughters, Corinne and Lydia and by his partner Annie. “I can’t imagine growing old without you”. Glen is further survived by his parents John and Daphne Evely, one brother Christopher Evely (Christine Webber) and four nephews, Uncle Stewart and Auntie Carolina all of Toronto, Ontario and extended family in Newfoundland. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20th, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. from the Vernon Alliance Church with RCMP Chaplain Jim Turner officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Glen may do so to the B.C. Children’s Wish Foundation, #104 – 13340 – 70B Avenue, Surrey, B.C. V3W 1Z6. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the PLEASANT VALLEY FUNERAL HOME (542-4333).
