Gordon (Gord) Buchanan

Mr. Gordon Ross (Gord) Buchanan was born on April 11th, 1927 at Hensal, Ontario and passed away in the Alexander Wing of Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Thursday, September 20th, 2007 at the age of 80 years. He will be lovingly remembered and very much missed by his sister, Joyce Cook of Port Franks, Ontario, his brothers, Donald of Londesboro, Ontario and Fred of Hensal, Ontario, a special nephew, David (Joyce) Buchanan of Whitehorse, Yukon and many other nieces and nephews in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia and his very good friend, Lorne Hulley of Vernon, B.C. He was predeceased by his parents, Dora (Covey) and Alfred Buchanan; his brothers, Wilfred of Brynston, Ontario and Kenneth of Williams Lake, B.C. and his brother-in-law, Jerry Cook of Clinton, Ontario. Gord had many lovely homes in his life where he enjoyed his beautiful gardens and his animals, especially horses and dogs. He traveled may times back to Ontario and spent time with his sister and family but always returned to his beloved mountains in the Vernon and Chilliwack areas. Gord was well known for his strong will and independent spirit. In respecting Gord’s wishes, he was cremated and there will be no Funeral Service held. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Gord to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, 2101-32nd Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 9Z9.
