February 24, 1928 – March 4, 2017
Born in Niewe Pekela, The Netherlands, came to Canada in 1957. She was always proud of her chosen country.
It is with great sadness to inform you of the passing of our much loved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her final years her great joy was going to the Schubert Center, the Casino, going to the movies every week with her friends Corinna Frew and Carol Lee, as well as her family. Grace was always happy, a friend to all who knew her.
When she could still travel, she enjoyed many years in Arizona. I think that’s where her heart was.
She leaves behind her daughter Margarieta (Larry) Patterson of Armstrong, granddaughter Cori (Dave) Drier and their children Olivia and Landon of Stony Plain AB, Krista Patterson (Eric Andres) and her child Evan Armstrong. Daughter Romi (John) Boon/Burrow, her son Logan (Angela) Boon and their children Ashton and Alice of Stony Plain AB. Janelle (George) Racz, and their children Myla and Mason of Thorsby AB. Daughter Sonja (Roland) Davyduke and their children Courtney (Diamond) Shykora and Brittnay (Reilly) Meise, all of Enderby.
She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, and our dad Egbert Grave. She has now gone to join them in Eternal Life, may it be a happy one.
A special thank you to Terry and Mickie Sexsmith for all you have done for mom and dad. Also, a special thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff on the 6th floor of Polson Tower.
There will be a service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday March 31, 2017 at Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services (2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong, BC). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.MyAlternatives.ca.
