Herbert Webster

Born January 27, 1908, passed away in his home on October 5, 2006. He is survived

by his three children Lyall, Gordon, and Lynn Webster, their children and grandchildren, as well as nephews Tom Speechly, Lindsay and Brian Webster, Ralph Walton, and niece Claire Jones. He was

predeceased by his wife Josephine, brothers

John and Murray, and sisters Joyce and Barbara.

He was a lifetime resident of Coldstream, his family being the first to acquire land from the Coldstream ranch in 1891. He was educated in Vernon and attended Guelph Agricultural

College in Ontario. He carried on the family orchard into his eighties, and continued to be actively involved in the farm. During the second world war, vegetable seeds were grown to replace the traditional European sources. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and singing tenor in local operettas and choirs. He was a keen botanist, continuing to manage his vegetable garden and hobby orchard until his death. He was a quiet, kindly gentleman in the true sense of the word and will be sorely missed by his family and those who knew him. We would like to thank WeCare, Community Care, Dr. Philp and Peggy Christal for their support in recent years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.

A memorial service and reception will be held

at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant

Valley Road, on Wednesday, October 18th, at 2pm.
