She was a model aunty to nephews, nieces and cousins.

She died peacefully in her home and a small ceremony took place with these words: May the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary be adored, praised and glorified everywhere throughout the world forever. Amen.

A strikingly beautiful woman, she was an elegant, exotic, blackhaired, Slavic Lana Turner, of the 1940’s. She could entertain, play music and tell jokes for hours. This art was learnt in her packing house days and weekend marathons of cardplaying. Throughout her life she mastered all forms of dance. She loved elegant meals and even cheffed for logging camps at one time!

A memorial gathering is being held across from her home at 3408-33rd Ave., (west of Staples), June 10th, 7-8 pm. Reception to follow. Please bring a rock for her backyard Memorial Waterfall. Miriam 250-549-3402.
