Howard Hadden

Howard Hadden passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at Oakside Manor, Enderby. Aged 84 years. He will be lovingly remembered by wife Lillian, sons Harry (Darlene), Tom (Donna) and Sam (Shannon) all of Enderby; son-in-law Doug Mattka of Abbotsford; sisters Margaret Lewis and Virginia (Tom) Saunders; brother Norman (Barbara); mother-in-law Minnie Halcro; extended family and friends. Predeceased by daughter Victoria. Howard was born and raised in Surrey and he and Lillian were married there in 1948. They farmed on the Delta from 1948 until moving to their farm in Enderby in 1965. The farms had won several Dairy awards over the years. He served in the Navy during WWII and was Past President and Deputy Zone Commander of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 98. Retiring from farming in 1972, Howard helped build the Curling Rink and was bar manager and ice maker there for several years. His woodworking hobby started with logging the tree, milling the lumber, then making the piece of furniture. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2007, at St. Andrew’s United Church, Enderby. Carol Stokes, officiating. Interment to follow in Cliffside Cemetery.
