It is with great sadness that the family of Ida Dagenais announces her passing in Kamloops on December 1, 2010 at the age of 85.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Ernest, 1 infant son, 1 infant daughter, her parents Rose and Joe Lacoursierre, and 3 brothers.
Mom is survived by seven children: Yvette (Pierre), Diane, Pauline (Dave), Andrew (Betty), David, Paul, and Laurie (John), as well as her brother Ed. Mom is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was born in Marcelin, Sask, August 24, 1925. After their marriage Mom and Dad lived in several places in BC, but they made their home in Vernon for 39 years until her move to Kamloops in 2007 due to health reasons. Mom’s main focus throughout her entire life was her family. She cherished every moment she could spend with them and was always a very supportive and compassionate mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of us.
A Celebration of Life will be held during the month of March to enable all family members and friends to attend. Notification of date, time and place will be advised once finalized.
Friends wishing to make a donation in Mom’s memory can do so to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
We would like to give special thanks to Dana Levere and the staff at Ridgeview, Pacific 1. The family would also like to thank Dr. Eccleston and the very special people at RIH, 7 North for their kindness and compassion through this difficult time.
