TYSON (nee Inglis)

We regret to announce the sudden passing of Irene Selkirk Tyson at the age of 76 at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Sunday, August 31/03. Irene was born and raised in Vernon on January 28, 1927. Irene was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Ann Inglis, brothers Jim and Bob, sisters Babs MacDonald, Jessie Amiel and Ruby Winsor. Irene will be sadly missed by her husband Tom of 46 years. daughter Bev and her husband Dan Besler of Vernon, three grandsons; Tyson, Bill and Ryan all of Vernon. She will also be missed by her favorite canine “Coco Bean”. Survived by her brother Bill Inglis, brother-in-law Don MacDonald of Vernon, sister-in-laws, Jean Inglis of Trail, Shirley Onstot of New Westminster, numerous nieces and nephews.

Irene worked in her early years at Ben’s Meat Market, then at the Okanagan Telephone Company and then went to the Vernon Fruit Union in the office, later into the packing house and then went to BC Fruit Shippers and McDonald’s Packing House until retirement. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, she enjoyed playing crib. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cancer Foundation or Heart Foundation. A thank you to Dr. DeBella and the nurses on 3 West for the care for Mom. All funeral arrangements made thru the VERNON FUNERAL HOME. 542-0155. Memorial services will be held in Branch #25 Royal Canadian Legion Hall on Friday, September 5th at 2:00 P.M.
