James Patrick Farmer passed away peacefully at Enderby on Tuesday, August 22, 2006. Aged 81 years. Pat will be lovingly remembered by wife Joy; sons Terry (Pat) of Armstrong, grandchildren Brandi, Tamilee, Holly, Jeremy, Andria and Lonni, Bob (Jackie) of Summerland, grandchildren Christa, Simone, Celeste and their mother Linda; daughter Cheryl (Harold) O‘Connor of Mission, grandson Allan; three step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one step great grandson; sister Mary Moon of Vernon, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by sister Aileen Farmer. Born and raised at Enderby, Pat served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1943 – 1945. He and Joy were married April 15, 1947 at Lumby and have resided in the Enderby area since. He was very active in the community, serving as Alderman and Mayor of Enderby, president and service officer of the Royal Canadian Legion, charter member of the Lions Club and member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Pat worked at Canada Post for 36 years until retirement. He enjoyed family, the outdoors, fishing and was known for his keen sense of humour. Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24, with Mass celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 25, 2006, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Enderby. Cremation.
