JEAN ISENOR

JEAN ISENOR

A private family memorial service will be held for Eleanor Jane (“Jean”) Isenor (nee Cunningham) who passed away peacefully on November 3, 2004 at Pleasant Valley Manor. Jean was born in Calgary, Alberta on Christmas Day in 1908. After her marriage to Richard Douglas Isenor on May 21, 1925, Jean and Doug settled in the Shuswap area where they resided in a variety of locations until they moved to Armstrong in 1943.

Jean was a life member of Zion United Church Women and a Past Noble Grand of Sunset Rebekah Lodge #29. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, and knitting – but above all she devoted her life to her family. A tireless worker for the “Willing Workers” (her beloved UCW group), Jean was never happier than when she was doing something to help other people.

Jean was predeceased by her parents and her six older siblings, by her husband Doug in 1978, and by three of her children: Kathleen in 1944, Frank (“Buzz”) in 1967, and Richard in 2001. She is survived by her children Brock (Vi), Gordon (Yvonne), Laura (John), Don, Dorothy, Bill and Ted; by fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; and by four nieces and one nephew.

No flowers by request. Those who wish may make memorial donations to Pleasant Valley Manor, where Jean resided from 1991 (when the Manor first opened) until her death. Jean’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Pleasant Valley Manor who provided such loving care for Jean in her final years.

E-mail condolences may be sent to mvfh@canada.com. Arrangements are in the care of Mountain View Funeral Home, 546-8294 with Rev. Lorraine Powell officiating.
