JOHANNA THELKER

JOHANNA MARIA ANTONIE THELKER nee Kohler

March 21,1917 – January 20,2008

We have lost our Mother, Oma and Sister.

Born in Breslau, Germany, she married Alfred Przybille, with whom she lost contact during the war. In 1950 she married Helmut Thelker. Together they ventured to Canada with their three children in 1954, settling in Valemount, B.C. Our mother was astounded, having come from a fairly large city, to find black bears gazing at her through her windows in the early Valemount days.

Johanna spent her last few days surrounded by her family in Vernon where she lived from 1991. She is predeceased by her husband, Helmut, her much loved younger son, Uwe and two brothers and two sisters in Germany.

She leaves to miss Her, her children, Brent Przybille (Kay) and Christa Thelker; son-in-law, Daniel Donnelly; daughter-in-law, Christine Thelker. Brent and Kay’s children; Stephen, (Alyson) their children, Kurt and Riena; Tara (Brandon Bradley) their children, Logan, Delacey, and Ever; Loralie (Dean Whibley) their children, Hana, Dayna , Maya, and Tavis; Crystal (Hans Weemering) and their child Jesse. Christa’s children; Sarah, Elisabeth, and Christian Donnelly. Uwe’s children, Natasha and Brenden, and their mother Marie. She leaves a sister, Ursula, as well as many other relatives in Germany and many friends, particularly Ida, Eileen and Anne in Vernon. Our thanks to the staff at Noric House in Vernon for their thoughtful care.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 3701-32nd Avenue, Vernon, B.C. Friday March 21, at 2 PM.

Rest in Peace, Your Feistiness. Hope there’s no firewood to carry where you are.
