Joseph Kowalski

Joseph Kowalski born Feb. 1, 1926 passed away suddenly at his residence on Nov. 13th, 2006. He is survived by his wife Kelly, 2 daughters: Joanne & (Joe), Adrianne & (Jerry), son David, 3 grandchildren: Nadia, Sam, and Charlotte, also 4 step children and 6 step grandchildren. He also has 4 surviving brothers; Laddie, Rudolph, Walter and Albert.

Joe was born in Manitoba. Was the 4th of 9 children born to Phillip and Effie Kowalski. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and his first wife.

The family moved to Vernon in 1939. As a young man he spent time in the Merchant Marines during World War II. During his life time he did various jobs using his expertise as a farm machinery mechanic. He answered calls at any hour from farmers with broken down machinery especially during haying time.

He enjoyed story telling at coffee times and visiting the casino. Even to the last his humor never left him.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held Monday, 11 o’clock, Nov. 20th, 2006 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Chapel. Reception tea to follow. (Cremation). In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Hospice Society.
