Josephine Adeline Austin

We regret to announce the death of Josephine

Adeline “Addy” Austin on May 5th, 2008 at

Heritage Square in Vernon, B.C. at the age

of 91 years. Adeline was predeceased by her

husband, Morley in 1987. Adeline and Morley

married on September 1st, 1945 in Aldergrove,

B.C. In the spring of 1951 they left Richmond

where they had resided and moved to Fauquier

where they and Adeline’s sister and brotherin-

law, Alice and Richard Hall, had purchased

a thirty acre farm and the Needles Garage.

Later both families moved to the Needles side

of the Arrow Lakes. After the Columbia River

Treaty was signed, the farm in Fauquier, house

and garage in Needles were purchased by B.C.

Hydro. In 1968, Adeline and Morley purchased

their home in Vernon. Adeline is survived by

her loving family: son and daughter-in-law, Rob

and Jo Jo of Vernon, daughter and son-inlaw,

Shirley and Michael of St. Ives, B.C. and

fi ve grandchildren: Robbie (Leah), Matthew,

Reece, Quin and Jessica and many nieces and

nephews. A memorial tea will be held on May

16th, 2008 at Heritage Square, 3904-27th

Street, Vernon, B.C. from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Cremation arrangements have
