We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Joyce Henderson on December 2,

2004 at the age of 79 years. Joyce is survived by her loving family; husband Clayr of 60 years, 2 daughters Lynne (Kit) Johaneson of Vernon, B.C. Donna Macland of Gundy, B. C., l son Brian (Sharon) of Ymir, B.C., 4 grandchildren Darin (Jenny) Johaneson, Kristin (Don) Halsey, Dylan (Taylor)

Henderson, Renee (Kris) Macland, 8 great grandchildren, sister Joan Ziegler of Portland, OR and many extended family members. Joyce was born Joyce Milner on November 1st, 1925 in Lunnford, Alberta, She and Clayr were married on April 18th, 1944 in Edmonton, Alberta. After the War she and

Clayr moved to Victoria, where they lived with their three children for many years. Later they lived in West Vancouver, Port Coquitlam and Blind Bay, B.C. and recently moved to Vernon. Joyce was an adventurous person who loved traveling whether across the country, around the world, or to the cabin on Canim Lake. Even though she lived much of her married life in rainy Port Coquitlam, she was always able to find a dry park to take her grandchildren. Other hobbies included bird watching, swiming, cross country skiing, flying in Clayr’s Cessnas, gardening and hiking. Joyce was a devoted sports fan, and family dinners often had to be planned around her beloved Vancouver Canucks or B.C. Lions playing schedules, so she could keep an eye on how “Her Boys” were doing. A Celebration of Life service will be held from the Chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Friday, December 10, 2004 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Cremation.
