WIFFEN

Mrs. Karen Alice Wiffen, a long time resident of Vernon, was called Home suddenly to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 2nd, 2006 at the age of 94 years, while doing one of her favourite things in life – travelling. She will be lovingly remembered by two sons; Walter (Norma) Nelson of Whitecourt, Alberta and Stanley Nelson of Prince George, B.C., one step-daughter; June (George) Kuhn of Vernon, B.C., two step-sons; Allan (Evelyn) Wiffen of Vernon, B.C. and Wallace (Donna) Wiffen of Prince George, B.C., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, one sister; Eva Olesen of Camrose, Alberta, one sister-in-law; Marion Nielsen of Enderby, B.C. and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Nelson, her second husband, Les Wiffen, her grandson, Grant Nelson, two sisters; Edith Pedersen and Erna Burgess and one brother; Ernest Nielsen. Karen loved life and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends with her fabulous cooking and baking. She was an avid gardener and loved tending her roses, enjoyed bowling and was a long time faithful and active member of First Baptist Church. Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Karen’s Life which will be held at First Baptist Church, 1406-32nd Avenue, on Saturday, June 10th, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Dr. D. Awlwyn Balnave officiating. A Reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Interment of Karen’s cremated remains will take place in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery at the conclusion of the Reception. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Karen to the Canadian Cancer Society, #104-3402-27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S1, the B.C.
