Kate Sorensen passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 5th in Vernon, British Columbia at the age of 74 years, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children; Alex (Tracey) Sorensen, Anne (Rob) Downie, Ingrid Van de Leest and her grandchildren; Taegan and Bryce, Shawna and Colton and Natalya, Joel, Jenna and Maggi.
Kate was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 18, 1942 and immigrated to Canada in 1951. She spent a few years in Montreal before moving to BC. Kate married Erik in 1966 and they later moved to Armstrong, where they raised their family.
She enjoyed baking, spending time with her family, and would spend as much time as possible outside in the sun and with her flowers.
Kate will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and a wonderful caring friend. Her genuine smile and positive approach to life, will be forever cherished by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 15, 2017 at 3:00 P.M at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. Interment to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.
