Lloyd David Wilson

It is with the greatest sorrow that the Wilson family announces the passing of their beloved “Poppa” on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Vernon Hospice House.

He was born in Vernon, BC to Henry and Sophie Wilson (Louis) on September 15, 1936. He lived most of his life in the Vernon area and several years with his wife Ann in Toronto and Thunder Bay. Together they moved to Rivers Inlet and spend some time with the Oweekeno people before moving back to Vernon.

He was a sports fan with boxing as his favourite, having competed at an amateur level himself in his youth. He played hockey with the Vernon Stampeders for many years and also baseball. He loved to read Louie L’Amour books and was an avid crossword solver.

He was predeased by his wife Ann in 2007. After the death of his wife, he was fortunate enough to find companionship with Pam Abbott. He is survived by his brothers William and Henry Wilson and his children Veronica Wilson (Roger Lewis), Nadine Wasnick, Debbie Conlin, David Wilson and Ricky Olson (Michelle). He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicole, Laura, Holly, Lindsey, Brittany, Natalie, Lloyd, Rosie, Rosalie, Michael, Morgan, Chenoa, Haley, Ashley, and Brittany and great grandchildren, Cameron, Jacob, Dante, Shia, Kianna, and Keanen.

Wake to be held at Head of the Lake Hall Friday and a Celebration of Life service to be held at Head of the Lake Hall on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.

He will always be our “Poppa”
