It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of LOUISE HOWES on July 31, 2004 at Hospice House. Louise was born at home in Alix, Alberta on February 12, 1915. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1981, and by her three sisters Berta, Helen, and Margaret, and her three brothers Harry, John, and Elmer. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Glenna (Gordie) Baulkham, son Roy (Peggy) Ganderton, grandchildren Brent (Lillian), Tim (Lesa), Garth, Rob (Karen), Rory, and Bobbi-Jean, and great grandchildren Dustyn, Tyson, Keegan, and Jordan. She will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Louise will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life, and her great love for her family and friends. She spent many years in the Kootenays, including the towns of Castlegar, Riondel, and Creston, and her last fifteen years here in Vernon. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, August 6, in the chapel of the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Henry Friesen officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Louise to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation or to Vernon Hospice House. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home (250-542-4333).
