With deep sadness our family announces the death of Lucy Rita Madigan; Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. To all who knew her, she was an amazing woman. Lucy died peacefully at her residence on November 13, one week after her 91st birthday. She was born in Stillwater Minnesota, on November 6, 1912. She lived and worked in Minnesota until her immigration to Canada in October 1998. Lucy loved children and spent more that 40 years working as a pediatric nurse in Stillwater and St. Paul. She was predeceased by her first husband George Amersbach and second husband, Thomas Madigan. She will be lovingly remembered by her family in Armstrong: daughter, Sharon Munro, grandson Lee Welch (Susan), great grandsons, Dustin, Corey (Jaclyn) and Ryan (Patti). Her Minnesota family includes son George Amersbach (Connie), grandchildren Becky Amersbach (Terry), Georgie Longfellow (Mark), Jusden Amersbach (Chris), Hayden Amersbach (Bonnie); great grandchildren, Maria Rose, Abby, Douglas, Benjamin, Kayla, Alex, and Adam. Lucy is also survived by her sisters Gen, Gert and Jane and their families in California. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Coldstream on November 20 at 11:00 a.m. A further celebration of her life will be held with her family in Minnesota at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rush City, Minnesota on December 12, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with interment of her cremated remains in the family plot at St. Cloud, Minnesota.
