Mrs. Mabel “Joyce” Jacobson passed away on Saturday, June 24th, 2006, just one month prior to her 79th birthday. She is survived by her daughters; Linda (Clayton) McNutt, Karen (Moe) Gilliard, Ida (Bob) Adair, Christine (Art) Baerg and Tracy (Bruce) Hildebrand, twelve precious grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters; Josephine Turner and Dorothy Sheasby and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Keith Jacobson in 1991 and two sisters; Coreen and Lillie. Joyce was born in Brock, Saskatchewan, daughter of Joseph & Theresa Watson. In October, 1947 she married her childhood friend and the love of her life. Joyce and Keith moved to B.C. and raised five daughters. Joyce loved to cook, bake, garden, sew, sing and dance as well as to teach her daughters. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, friend, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother who was loved and who will be missed by all who knew her. In respecting Joyce’s wishes, she was cremated and there will be no Funeral Service held. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Joyce to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Endowment Foundation, designated for Gateby Intermediate Care Residence, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 9Z9 or to your local SPCA.

A heartfelt thanks are extended to the loving staff (adopted family) at the Gateby Intermediate Care Residence as well as to Pastor Bob Cowan and Reverend Father Martin Peyton for their visits and prayers.
