Friends whom Barbara and Malcolm Abercrombie made during their sojourns as resident-visitors in Vernon will be saddened to learn that Malcolm died, of cancer, in England, on October 9th. Malcolm was born (1932) and grew up in England. In 1953, he came to Queen’s (Kingston) to obtain his PhD in polymer chemistry. There, he met Barbara Wiggin whom he subsequently married and took home to a happy, fulfilling life in England and various places on their sailboat. Malcolm is survived by his loving wife Barbara, their two sons Michael (Michelle) and John (Sunny) and two granddaughters (Olivia and Jessica). Michael & family live in Kingston, Ontario: John and Sunny, in Dallas. Malcolm was a gentle, caring, adventurous man who loved sailing from boyhood. He, and three of his numerous friends, once sailed from the Caribbean to England. He was deeply loved, and will be greatly missed, by everyone who knew him, including Jack and Mary Wiggin and Susan (Wiggin) Guy of Vernon.
