PARKINSON (nee DOUGAN)

Mrs. Margaret Calderwood Parkinson passed away at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on December 8, 2006, aged 88 years. Margaret was born in England while her mother was visiting there, but, clung to her roots in Scotland which was her home until she moved to Canada in 1920. She spent most her life in Ontario and moved to Vernon in 2001 to be with her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Barbara Streeter. Margaret had been a resident of Noric House since June. She was predeceased by two husbands and leaves three sons and two daughters, James of Surrey, Richard of London, Ontario, Dan of Vernon, Carlene and Mary Lynn, both in Ontario. There are 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. A sister Barbara King (Teddy), in Nova Scotia also survives. She was predeceased by her daughter Rebecca in 2001. A private service was held on Wednesday, December 13, at 10:30AM. Pastor Jake Friesen officiated. Cremation.
