June 10th, 1942 – March 6th, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Wolf on March 6th, 2017 in the care of the North Okanagan Hospice House, her husband Edgar Wolf and step-son Darren. Margaret was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She was the oldest of three children: Carole Smith, James Jones, and the late Janet Catel. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews in Ontario. Margaret loved teaching and had an adventurous spirit. She moved to Alberta to take up the challenge of teaching. She later spent five years in Australia teaching French. Eventually returning to the love of the west in Peace River Alberta, she was an esteemed English teacher who has an award named

in her honour. This is where she met and married Edgar Wolf and the family of four children. Diane Buerfeind, Gary, Darren, and Wayne Wolf. She retired in 1995 to take up a home in Parker Cove, Vernon, BC where she was an active community member, always sharing her talent as an English teacher. She will be dearly missed by many students, friends, and her grandchildren; Jason and Randi Buerfeind, Kandace, Heather Buerfeind. Ethan, Maia, and Zoe Wolf, children of Wayne Wolf. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church in Vernon, BC on April 22nd at 1:00pm. There will be a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a memorial contribution in memory of Margaret to the Canadian Cancer Society (104 – 3402 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S1) or to the North Okanagan Hospice House (3506 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4).
