NILSON – Marguerite Ernestine (nee McBrien)

1914 – 2003

Marguerite Ernestine Nilson (nee McBrien) of Calgary, formerly of Vernon, BC, passed away suddenly at her residence on Monday, September 8, 2003, at the age of 88 years.

Marguerite was born November 30, 1914 in Gainsborough, SK. She married Halley Nilson in 1937 in Manitoba and resided in Saskatchewan until Halley’s death in 1959. In 1960 Marguerite moved to Calgary then later resided between Vernon and Calgary, retiring to Calgary in 1997. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Vernon for many years. Marguerite is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Ruth Nilson of the U.S.A. and a daughter and son-in-law Judy and Darryl Hearnden of Calgary; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Mabel and Leo Eldred of Carstairs, AB. She was predeceased by her husband Halley and her sister Bernice Bowes.
