MARION KILBORN

We regret to announce the death at The Gateby on July 5, 2003, of Mrs. Marion Lucy Kilborn (nee Main) at the age of 88 years. Marion was born in Rapid City, Manitoba, and came to Vernon in 1951. She was a longtime active member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Vernon Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Arthritis Society, and the Old Age Pensioners. Marion was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1945. She was also predeceased by her parents, William and Maybelle Main; brothers Percy and Stewart Main; sisters Edna Gorder and Violet Follis; and great-grandchildren Ricky and Natasha. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Dodie (Lou) Krusel of Vernon, Terry (Grace) Kilborn of Drayton Valley, Alberta, Patty Meger of Chilliwack, Ken (Sharon) Kilborn of Winfield, and Bob (Suzanne) Kilborn of Vernon. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother Cliff (Yoli) Main of Oakville, Ont.; sisters: Evelyn Matthews of Toronto, Laura Elliott of Vernon, and Dorothy Cummings of Winnipeg; and numerous extended family members. Cremation will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service to be held on Saturday, July 12, at 1:30 P.M., at the Gateby, with the Reverend Tim LeDrew officiating. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Marion to either Hospice House, 3506-27 Ave., Vernon, V1T 1S4; or to the Comfort Fund at the Gateby, 3500-31 Ave., Vernon, V1T 2G5.
