Marion Leona Cooke

Marion Leona Cooke (nee Pitton) passed away peacefully at Parkview Place in Enderby on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Marion was born at Kingfisher on January 23, 1921. Most of her life was spent in the Ashton Creek area where she married Edwin Cooke – her husband of 50 years and raised four children, Gordon, Katherine, Nancy and Robert. For 35 years Marion was a member of the Enderby Legion Ladies Auxiliary as well as a long time member of both the Riverside Community Club and the Riverside Ladies Club. She loved fishing, camping, flowers, gardening, spending time with family and friends. Marion is survived by two sisters, Alma Specht of Vernon and Gladys (Ernie) Nelson of Quesnel, as well as her children and grandchildren Gordon Cooke of Kelowna; Katherine (Michael), David, Devin and Dana Dimmick of Enderby; Nancy (Neil), Nathan, Jennifer and Sarah O’Neill of Kamloops; Robert (Leslie), Kelsie, Jenna and Mitchell Cooke of Enderby; numerous nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by parents Tony and Louise Pitton; husband Edwin Cooke; brothers Joe Peeters and Albert Pitton. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Enderby. Father Leo Boyd, O.M.I. officiating. Following the service a luncheon will be held at Enderby Seniors Complex. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkview Place Residents Fund or a charity of your choice.
