MARY HOLLAND

HOLLAND, MARY ISABELLE R.N. “Molly” (nee Clerke)

Passed away peacefully on April 9, 2003 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. Born in Vernon March 15, 1919 Molly was an avid athlete and outdoors women, growing up on a ranch breeding prize cattle and riding the range. Molly graduated from VGH in 1943 as a registered nurse and did some private nursing prior to raising her family. Molly worked at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria through the 1960’s eventually retiring as Head Nurse of the Medical Pavilion in 1969. She was as beautiful a lady as she was a person, always considering everyone’s needs before her own. She leaves her loving husband of sixty years John, her daughters, Karen, Janet, Jane and Mia and her son John, 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; many Clerke relations in the Okanagan and dear friends in Victoria and Vancouver areas. Molly, wife, mother and friend will be fondly remembered by all that had the privilege to know her. By her request there will be no service, a Celebration of her Life will be held at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660-72nd Ave., Surrey on Friday, April 25th, 2003 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Victoria Community Living Foundation 3861 Cedar Hill X Rd., Victoria, BC, V8P 2M7 or a charity of your choice.
