We regret to announce the passing of Maximilian Giger on January 8, 2005, in Armstrong, British Columbia, at the age of seventy-three years. Born March 15, 1931, in Grub, Switzerland, Max, his wife Anna and two sons immigrated to Canada, arriving in Kamloops, B.C. in September, 1957. The family lived in McBride, B.C., 1963 – 1976. Max and Anna lived in the Okanagan Valley from 1976 to the present. Max is survived by his loving family: Wife Anna, to whom he was married fifty-four years; children, Guido (Hilda) Giger, Roy (Wendy) Giger, daughter-in-law Anita Giger; grandchildren Brandon, Daniel, Lierin, Leah, Isabel, Dwain, Doug, Cindy. Further survived by two brothers and one sister in Switzerland. Max was predeceased by his son Max Giger Jr. in 2003. Service of Remembrance will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2005, from the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, Armstrong, with the Rev. Cory Rundell officiating. Cremation.
