NORA

“MARJORIE“

BROOMFIELD

It is with great pride that we celebrate the life or Nora “Marjorie” Broomfield (nee Pigeon).

Mom’s zest for life stayed with her until she passed away suddenly on March 31, 2017, surrounded by her family at the young age of 73.

Marje was born in Ashcroft, B.C. Mom grew up in Clinton, and it was in Clinton where Mom met a Mountie named Jack Broomfield. They married and had 2 children when they were transferred to Kelowna, Brent Broomfield (Vernon), and Lynne Patterson (nee Broomfield, Armstrong). Our Dad Jack, passed away in 2010. Mom’s pride and joy was her 4 grandchildren, Shandra, Levi, Jasmine and Darrien.

Mom had a zest for life that was shown in everything mom did, and every relationship mom ever had.

Mom believed in helping her community and she has been a volunteer for the Vernon Lakers Hockey Team, Hospice Society, Schubert Centre to name a few. Mom reached out to grieving Widows and she helped them find their feet again. Mom recently started volunteering at a local elementary School, reading with children in the “One to One” children’s literacy program. Mom was a giving person where ever she lived and Mom asked for nothing in return.

A celebration of life and Social Gathering will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Schubert Centre from 1pm - 4 pm, where mom volunteered.

Everyone who’s lives were touched by mom’s happy presence is welcomed to attend.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to do so, please make a donation to this local program that provides weekend food for children in need.
