NORMAN GARNHAM KNOX of Osoyoos passed away peacefully, the morning of Wednesday, November 6th at South Okanagan General Hospital – Oliver in the company of family. Norm was born March 12, 1927 in Vancouver and grew up in Vernon before joining the Royal Canadian Army Corps, where he saw active duty in the Korean War. After retiring from service, Norm moved his family to Abbotsford and was mainly self-employed, owning or operating a number of businesses in the grocery, wholesale and catering fields. He later moved to Osoyoos where he met Dorothy, and was welcomed into her family as he made a reluctant transition to full retirement. Norm is survived by sisters Barbara Kilner of Westbank, Olive and Lyle Berg of Osoyoos, sister-in-law Florrie Knox of Vernon, son Ron & Jill McMoran and daughter Laurie & Robert Ebenal of Abbotsford, son Cliff & Karen Knox of Brockville, ON, son Glen & Gloria Husack of Winnipeg, MB, son Jim & Charlotte Husack of Osoyoos, along with grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Abbotsford, the Okanagan Valley, and Winnipeg. He was also predeceased by wives Emma (Beres) and Dorothy (Claydon), and brother William “Bill” Knox. Norm was an active member and longtime volunteer of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 173 in Osoyoos, and an avid card and dart player, along with being an accomplished 5-pin bowler, earning many trophies and honours over the years. He will be missed by his many friends and family, in Osoyoos, throughout BC, and across the country. A veteran’s memorial service and reception was held on Tuesday, Nov. 12th the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Osoyoos. A private interment ceremony was attended later by family in the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery – Military Section. Donations in memoriam gratefully accepted to the Royal Canadian Legion, K.
