HORNER, PAMELA – Pam, as she was known to her family and friends, passed away peacefully at Hospice House on September 25, her birthday. Pam was born in Davidson, Sask., 1927, the daughter of Lewis and Elsie Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Bill, whom she met in Whitehorse in 1950 and married in Nelson in 1952; her son Jim (Valerie), granddaughters Matisse and Olivia; daughter Susan, (Tony), granddaughters Amber and Jasmin; son Gordon; and brother Ralph ( Maria). She was predeceased by her mother, father, and brother Hugh. She loved to travel, play bridge, and write letters, poems and stories. She had a strong social conscience and worked hard for the causes she believed in . Author of the book “Osteoporosis , the Long Road Back” and cofounder of the Vernon Osteoporosis Support Group. Cremation. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Vernon & District Hospice Society. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, October 11, between 2 and 4 pm at Columbus Court, 3003 Gateby Place, in Vernon.
