PATRICIA SHACKLETON GILLMOR (nee Joyce) passed away peacefully in her sleep at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Sunday, February 6, 2005. Aged 92 years. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Art Jr., Leona Wood and Caroline Connor; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Arthur Hill Gillmor, Sr. Patsy was born on December 19, 1912, in Kamloops, BC. As a pioneer resident, she and her husband together established the Gillmor Flour Mill and Bakery, which is now home to the Kamloops Curling Club. Prior to WWII they built the Thompson Valley Lumber Co. by the Kamloops Red Bridge. Patsy shared her beautiful voice as a soloist at the Christian Science Church for many years. She was involved in the Eastern Star and Ladies of the Nile as well as the Shriners with her late husband. Patsy has resided in Armstrong for the past 33 years. A special thank you to Dr. Rutherford, Larry Thomsom, Vernon Hospital nurses and Armstrong Homemakers for their excellent care in her later years due to failing health.
