PAULINE SCHRAEDER

Mrs. Pauline Schraeder (nee Zirk) was born at Sutherland, Saskatchewan on October 25th, 1911 and passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2007 at the Langley Lodge, Langley, B.C., just short of her 96th birthday. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kathleen (Kitty) Kingston of Coldstream, B.C. and Marjorie (William) Watkins of Surrey, B.C.; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel in 1991; two infant sons; four brothers; five sisters; and her son-in-law, Ernie Kingston. After farming in Saskatchewan for several years, Pauline moved to B.C. in 1937. In 1942, the family moved to Manitoba to resume farm life. Some 30 years later, she retired with her family to Vernon and in 1976 she moved to Langley, where she remained until she went to her “reward”. Pauline lived a full life and saw many changes in the world, from the horse and buggy days, until the astronaut age. She was fluent in reading and writing German and since she was an avid reader, she was very knowledgeable about a variety of topics. She leaves behind many memories and a family that loved her and will miss her dearly. A Graveside Service will be held at the Coldstream Cemetery on Friday, September 14th, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Wilf Burger officiating. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Pauline to the Langley Lodge, 5451-204th Street, Langley, B.C. V3A 5M9. Funeral arrangements have been made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5 (542-1187)
