Surrounded by a large, loving family, Denys passed away at Hospice House on July 15, 2009 at the age of 82 years.
He was born on the family farm in Grenfell, Saskatchewan on October 14, 1926. During his life Denys had many careers including farming, banking, construction estimating, building contracting and finally, his true calling, beekeeping.
Happiest at family gatherings and dancing with his true love, Loy, Denys enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards with friends and was an avid sports fan.
He is continually loved by his wife of 61 years, Loy (Switzer) and their five children, Gavin (Marlene), Daryl (Hearther), Ryan (Debbie), Shelley (David), Russell (Judy) along with twelve grandchildren and one great grand daughter. He will be greatly missed by a large extended family and many friends including Linda Hashimoto and Jamie Macdonald
Denys will be remembered as a kind hearted, quiet, honest, generous, man who liked to tease.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Sunday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home Tea Room, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon.
