Reinhard Alexander Friebel

Reinhard was born on July 31st, 1915 in Neutral Hills, Alberta and was called Home to be with his Lord and Saviour on November 26th, 2010 having reached the age of 95 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helen, to whom he was married for 61 years; three children, Dorothy (Marlowe) Hunt of Three Hills, Alberta, Gordon (Nancy) Friebel of Fort Vermilion, Alberta and Steven (Krista) Friebel of Vancouver, B.C.; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Steven) Ibbotson, Rebecca (Cameron) Nicolson, Jonathan (Kim) Hunt, Lois (Greg) Lewis, Jonathan (Nellie) Friebel, Daniel Friebel, Noah Friebel and Luke Friebel; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Rachel and Connor; his siblings, Albert Friebel, Erika Schmitt, Elizabeth Wilson, Ruth Farnham and Jack Friebel; two sisters-in-law, Amelia Friebel and Marjorie Friebel; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Reinhard was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Antonie Friebel; one grandson, Caleb Friebel; and two brothers, Curt Friebel and David Friebel.

Reinhard was a missionary in India for 33 years and in 1980 he and Helen came to Vernon to retire so they could enjoy the sunny Okanagan. He was involved in various ministry capacities in Emmanuel Fellowship Baptist Church for many years.

A Memorial Service will be held at Emmanuel Fellowship Baptist Church, 3412-15th Avenue, on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Robert Murdock officiating. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Reinhard to the charity of their choice.
