Robert Irvin (Bob) PETZNICK
Robert Irvin (Bob) Petznick, a resident of Vernon since 1991, passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday, December 27th, 2007, just one day prior to his 84th birthday.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeanne, to whom he was married for 55 years; his children, Gail (Tim) Sperling of Kitchener, Ontario, Glenn (Moya) Petznick of Salmon Arm, B.C., Randy (Chris) Petznick of Elmira, Ontario and Dianne (Rick) Green of Kitchener, Ontario; his grandchildren, Julie and Steven Sperling, Sarah, Hayley and Gavin Petznick and Jamie and Jason Petznick; one brother, Gordon (June) Petznick of London, Ontario; one sister, Bernett Browne of Willowdale, Ontario; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by one brother, Verner Petznick and two sisters, Dorothy Petznick and Bernice Pequegnat.
Bob was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #25, was an avid skier and enjoyed being a ski partner at Silver Star Mountain for many years.
Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at Peace Lutheran Church on Friday, January 4th, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Richard D. Schulz officiating. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will take place at a later date when his cremated remains are interred in Waterloo, Ontario. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Bob to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1204-30th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1Z5, the CNIB, 247 Lawrence Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 6L2 or to the charity of their choice.
When once asked to share in writing some significant accomplishment that Bob felt he had achieved in life, he wrote this: “Raising a family of which I am extremely proud.”
