Sophie (Wagner) Schmidt (nee Eberwein) was born on October 31st, 1917 in Manyberries, Alberta and passed away suddenly on June 18th, 2010 at her residence in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 92 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Doreen (Joe) Novakowski and Marianne (Dennis) Bristow of Vernon, B.C. and Arnold (Irene) Wagner of Vancouver, B.C.; nine grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Katie Meger and Polly (Gus) Reich of Vernon, B.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elias Edward (Eli)
Wagner on May 6th, 1986; her second husband, John Schmidt on January 26th, 1991; and one sister, Margaret Schmidt on October 5th, 1986.
Sophie was a woman who had busy hands, a kind and loving heart, was one who always was giving to others, was fi ercely independent and had a deep, unquestionable faith in her Lord. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
A private Graveside Service preceded a Celebration Of Sophie’s Life which will be held at Peace Lutheran Church on Thursday, June 24th, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Richard D. Schulz offi ciating. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations
