Stephen Roman Babij

Stephen Roman Babij, 51 of Falkland, BC, was fatally injured on March 13, 2017 in a motor vehicle accident.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 20, 2017 at the Falkland Community Hall. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bowers Funeral Home of Salmon Arm, BC.

Steve was born in Vernon, BC on June 29, 1965. He married Pattie on December 12, 2012; they were married four happy and full years. During this time, they enjoyed farming together, traveling and pursuing their dreams. Pattie’s daughter, Tanessa became the center of Steve’s world. He was so proud to be a family and share his life with them.

Steve was happiest when his house was full of people. His love for kids was evident as he was always sure to give all the 4-H kids a hard time. Steve was known as the “Hay Guy” throughout Alberta, BC and Washington. Never on time, but always delivered. His true passion was farming and he was also an avid snowmobiler. Most snowy Sundays were spent on Hunter’s Range with his close friends.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Pattie; step-daughter, Tanessa and son-in-law, Scott; siblings, Martin Babij (Kathy), Mike Babij (Sami), John Babij (Lisa), Margret Sandy and Marilyn Scott; numerous nieces and nephews and all his animal companions.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents John and Ingeborg Babij. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to STARS Air Ambulance (stars.ca).
