In loving memory ~

Steven Casey Logan, a man with boundless curiosity and unwavering spirit passed away peacefully at home on February 8th, 2024, in the loving embrace of family and friends. Born March 25, 1952 Steven lived his first six years on the Okanagan Indian Reserve #1 at O'keefe Landing, with his Dad, Daniel Logan and his Mother Edith Downer Logan. When he was six, Steve, his siblings Diane, Robert, and Yvonne moved into Vernon with their mother. Steve attended school in Vernon until grade 11 and graduated grade 12 from Victoria High School on Vancouver Island. Following graduation, Steven attended the University of Victoria for his first year. For the next few years Steve wandered, married Tannis Nash and lived in Calgary where he went to SAIT completing the jet engine mechanic program. During this time Steve and Tannis welcomed Lyahna and Amiel into their lives, 1975 and 1977. Steve began working as a National Park Warden in Glacier National Park- Roger's Pass in 1977 and would continue with the warden service until 1988. During this time he completed a degree in Computer Science and Geography / Natural Resource management, graduating in 1984. In 1981 while at the University of Victoria Steve met Kathleen Sacht. They began a partnership and marriage that lasted until his death.

He worked in IT with the Western Regional office of Parks Canada in Calgary from 1989 until retirement in 1999. Steve and Kathleen were blessed with two sons Ky and Ben, born 1987 and 1989. Steven was a lifelong student and teacher of Taichi, Qigong, Meditation and Kung Fu. Steve loved science fiction movies and books and during his life he explored sailing, hiking, skiing, motorbike riding, design and all things computer. A man of diverse interests, Steven was deeply involved in managing the family business, Newport Beach Land Co from 1988 till his passing. Steve's strongest commitment was to his family, and he thrived as a husband, partner, father and grandfather. His legacy lives on through his beloved wife Kathleen, and children Lyahna, Amiel (Amy), Ky (Amy) and Ben (Alexa) as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

On Saturday May 18th 12-3pm, at Newport Beach, 12069 Westside Rd, Vernon, B.C. friends and family will gather to celebrate Steven's remarkable life. It will be a time of shared memories, laughter, and reflection on the profound impact he had on all who knew him. Though Steven may have departed this world his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched, a testament to a life lived with purpose and passion. OM Mani Padme OM.
