We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Terry Nitchie, April 5, 2024. Terry was born Oct 18, 1946 in Armstrong BC. He had many cherished memories of growing up in the local community.
He married the love of his life, Sue, in 1970. In 1972 they moved to Deep Creek where they spent the next 52 years. Family meant everything to Terry and he was so grateful that he could spend the last ten years enjoying his two grandsons.
He is survived by his loving wife Sue, son Doug, daughter Erica (Creole) and grandsons Jonah and Jericho.
He is also survived by his older brother Bob (Marylee) and his brothers/sisters in-law Art (Sharon) Yonkman, Louis (Pat) Yonkman, Ralph Yonkman, Margaret (Ray) Loetkeman and Rita (Dale) Reimer, and many nieces and nephews.
Terry was always interested in cars and began his working career in Armstrong at A.Smith and Son eventually teaming up with his younger brother, Brian, to form T&B Automotive. He then worked at home as Terry's Auto Repair, for 11 years. This was followed by being employed by School District 83 as a custodian.
Terry enjoyed snowmobiling at Hunter's Range in winter and hiking in the summer. In retirement, Terry and Sue travelled extensively, the highlight being the cross-country trip of Canada that they took in their van. He especially enjoyed Newfoundland.
Terry was predeceased by his parents Stan and Evelyn Nitchie and his brother Brian.
A Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Armstrong Bible Chapel (2145 Rosedale Avenue, Armstrong).
