VIVIAN ADELINE, passed over peacefully at Rest Haven Lodge, Sidney, BC on August 28, 2003 with her family by her side. Vivian was predeceased by her loving husband, Ted Mawer in 1986 and son, Garry Dale in 2000. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Cheryle (Real) Bergevin of Victoria, Ken (Lynda) Mawer of Vernon, Sandra (Don) MacDonald of Calgary, Corrine Haack of Gull Lake, Barry (Jackie) Mawer of Red Deer and Judy (Jim) Shrenek of St. Albert and daughter-in-law, Shawn Mawer of Red Deer her 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Born in Stettler, Alberta November 1, 1914, Vivian lived the majority of her life in Alberta and upon retirement she and Ted relocated to Victoria. Vivian was an elementary school teacher for 32 years and her legacy of patience and compassion live on in the lives of all those students who were blessed to have called her “Teacher and Mentor”. She was an avid gardener, an artist, and a Lifetime Member of the Royal Purple. Vivian died as she lived with dignity and grace. Godspeed dearest Mom, you can now garden to your heart’s content and we shall enjoy the fruits of your labour in all the flower gardens we visit! Special thanks to God’s dedicated Angels at Rest Haven. Your compassionate caregiving will continue to inspire all of us as we are truly blessed by your gifts of love. Your profound commitment to providing exceptional care was demonstrated in each and every interaction with Mom and all of her fellow residents. God Bless you. A celebration and reception of Vivian’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Lodge, 2281 Mill Road, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation, 107 — 1001 Cloverdale Avenue, Victoria, BC, V8X 4C9. Cremation entrusted to Hatley Memorial Gardens.
