Walter Thompson

passed away suddenly after a brief illness with his daughters by his side on Friday, August 29, 2008

at the age of 79.

He is survived by his loving family, daughters: LeaAnne Webster of Victoria, BC, Brenda Cumberland (Ryan) of Fairview, AB; two sons: Rod Johnson (April) of Kelowna, Dean Johnson (Amrit) of Winfield; grandchildren: Travis and Neil (Vikki) Webster, Amber (Jeff) MacDonald, Christopher Maennchen, Jennifer (Travis) Scott, Gavin, Kirsten and Bud Johnson, Stacey, Sharon and Ashley Jensen; great grandchildren: Nelson “John Deere” Webster, Calvin, Eilidh and Fergus MacDonald, Liam and Jaron Scott, Kayden Jensen, and his sister Margaret Mills (Bruce) of Langley. Predeceased by an infant brother Ronald, his first wife Joan, sister Violet Robbins, his parents Daniel and Olga, son Dale Johnson and by his second wife Elaine. Walter homesteaded in Bonanza, AB and was a meticulous farmer who tended his farm with pride. He was gentle, kind hearted, generous to a fault and a friend to all. A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, September 3rd at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pouce Coupe Care Home: 5216 50th Avenue, Pouce Coupe, Box 98, BC, V0C 2C0. A gift in living memory of Walter will be made

to “Hospice Care” by Springfield Funeral Home.
