WESLEY CARTER (Nick) passed away in Kelowna, BC on September 11, 2003 at the age of 76. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marian of 53 years, and son Nicholas of Vancouver. Also survived by family members: sister-in-law Margaret Carter; nieces Bonnie Bordas, Joan Oliver, Maxine Rankin, Yvonne Thomas and their families; nephew Bruce Carter and family; sister-in-law Francis Alan of Cranbrook and sons David, Robert, Ian and their families. Predeceased by son Kenneth; sisters Theda, Phyllis and brother Max. Nick was born in Ponoka, Alberta, where we went to school and spent his early years. At the age of 15 he entered the service of the Merchant Navy where he spent the war years from 1942 – 1945 and continued to serve in the Merchant Navy until 1947. Following years Nick and Marian pursued many business ventures. His later years were spent in the cattle and farming operations, these being his most pleasurable times. The past five years Nick and Marian have enjoyed their retirement in Kelowna. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 15 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Entombment to be held in the Hillside Cemetery, Kamloops, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the S.P.C.A., Box 1355 Stn “A”, Kelowna, BC V1Y 7V8.
