Winnifred (Wynne) Collins was born on September 4th, 1935 in Duval, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on August 13th, 2017 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 81 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons; Rodney (Jennifer Love) Shaw of Vernon, B.C. and Garnet (Diane) Shaw of Campbell River, B.C., her grandchildren; Sage, Sierra, Raymond, Tyler and Spence, her great-grandchildren; Teanna Lee and Benson, her brother; Jim Taylor of Regina, Saskatchewan along with her extended family members and friends. Wynne was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Helmut Shaw, her 2nd husband, Peter Collins and by her parents; Gilbert and Mary Ellen Taylor.

Wynne grew up in Duval, Saskatchewan and once married, they moved to Regina and then on to Vancouver. Her husband Helmut passed away while in 100 Mile House. Wynne received her teaching degree from Notre Dame in Nelson, B.C. and then moved to Lumby, B.C. She taught in Lumby and Lavington for a number of years before retiring.

In respecting Wynne’s wishes, she was cremated and no funeral service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Wynne to the Parkinson’s Society of B.C., 600 – 890 West Pender Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6C 1J9.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Perrier and the staff at the Polson Extended Care Residence for their excellent care provided to mom during her time there.
