Inconsistencies

If you’d like a lesson on the idiocy of government, bureaucrats and politicians, look no further than the Oct 1 letter detailing Vernon’s Melissa Verleg and her life struggle with cystic fibrosis. The letter details the Cystic Fibrosis Society’s struggle to have two Canadian developed drug treatments covered under Medicare.

Now lets contrast that with the recent unilateral decision by Justin Trudeau to award $10.5 million to Omar Kadhr. Kadhr had already been awarded the gift of Canadian repatriation after serving part of his sentence in the U.S.

That should have been compensation enough.

Closer to home, we have a provincial government funding multi-million-dollar safe injection sites for folks who choose to live a lifestyle which could kill them at any time while folks fatally allergic to bee stings are forced to pay for their own epi-pens.

Millions of diabetics, cursed by genetics they can’t control, pay for their own drugs and equipment and men must pay for PSA screening to test for their second leading cause of death, prostate cancer. A fair minded person would conclude something is clearly wrong when politics is more important than the health of innocent citizens.
